I love Pastor Osteen's books. I ordered this one for my brother and thought it a little odd that the hardcover price was less than the paperback book. I figured it must not sell as much so the price was lowered. Little did I know that the hardcover was a tiny book smaller than a man's wallet (see dimensions). Just wanted you to know just in case the size of the book matters. Content-wise... I'm satisfied.
I have always been a huge fan of Joel. I don't listen to the hype about his money, and blah blah. His words are so motivational and uplifting. He really knows how to touch your heart. Great words.
I love listening to Joel Osteen. Each Sunday my husband and I listen to him and always gain something from his sermons. The reason I enjoy him so much is because he's got something for everyone. He constantly reminds me that God loves me just the way I am, and as long as I'm trying to do my best, God gives me promises in the Bible. But I didn't know where to find them. I read this little book each day and have found those promises from the Bible that we're promised to receive, but we have to be in agreement and remind ourselves that the Lord wants to give the promises that we need to be willing to receive.I know it's a small book. But the size of the book is filled with amazing things, reminders we need each day.
Not a fan or follower of Joel Osteen but a truthful person, I have to admit, this is a good and well-written book. Easy to read and easy to put into practice. This book is full of promises that we as believers know are true but sometimes can wonder if they will ever come true for us. Only criticism of this book as that he should have put the scripture reference next to each scripture.
I love this book. I use it as a companion to the book The Power of I Am. It is wonderful. A nice reminder that God is GOOD, not waiting to pounce on you for messing up, and also that you can change your attitude to embrace hope instead of feeling like you don't dare expect more. It is not a "prosperity" thing as much as it just provides hope and lets you open up to expecting good things. If you are ready to start looking forward instead of grieving over the past this is the book for you.
This book helped to break out of a dark place in my soul, after being betrayed by my husband. Their affair had started before he married me, and continued during our 18 years of marriage, until her husband knocked on my door.It was just a verse, a short synopsis, a short story per chapter. I couldn't stand to read much more while my soul was in that horrible place. The book geantly prodded me back into the arms and thinking that can only come from God.Since, I've bought it as gifts for anyone I've met that needs an encouraging word.
I really enjoy Joel Osteen, great to wake up and listen to the Word and the hope that it gives. I believe in what Joel is saying because he does back it up with scripture, and I know the verses he quotes. There is always hope in the Bible and Joel with his little booklet (this is very small booklet) enables people to have it on their person without having a large book to carry. Its very easy to put in a handbag or in a man's pocket where one can pick up and declare these promises of God. For the above reasons I can say its a good purchase.

I bought this book with the intention of being encouraged every day and change my negative thinking and speaking. Last year, I was in a job that I was tired of because it didn’t offer any promotion. I graduated with a bachelors and I wasn’t using my degree on that position. For 10 years, I was stuck in it and grew miserable each day. When I started reading this book and putting it into practice I didn’t see anything happening right away, but as I kept on reading it and declaring out loud each declaration, my thoughts and my speech began to change with every situation. One day, after being so frustrated with my dead-end job, I told my coworker: “This time, next year, I’m going to be at a better job with a better payâ€. That was February 2017. In December of the same year, a friend spoke to me about a job opening to which I applied and went to two interviews. I didn’t get the job, but it didn’t discourage me. I knew something better was coming my way. In April of 2018 my friend told me about another position she thought I would like and told me to apply and I did. Two days later I was asked to come in for an interview and that same day in the afternoon, they offered me the job. Couple of months later, I found out that out of five candidates, I was the least experienced and the least qualified candidate. I give God all the Glory!
